The Australian landscape is a forever-changing environment where humans leave their mark. Urban-Rural Scapes discusses this urbanisation. Like the impositions of the modern world upon our vast, distinctive landscapes, Andrew Clapham constructs his visual commentary synthetically and with jarring contrast. By superimposing contemporary, often derelict objects from the city onto pristine natural environments Clapham creates worlds that highlight the impact of urbanisation upon our natural world and the scars it leaves behind.
To celebrate the opening of Clapham’s LWOO exhibition, it is with great pleasure that we invite you to an afternoon with the artist. Join us in the gallery from 2-4PM Saturday 27th MAY for an informal conversation about his work and creative practice.
